Byodo-In Temple Aloha Expedition

Itinerary:

Waikiki Pickup (7:00 am – 7:30 am)

Our semi private shuttle will arrive at 7am for pick up in Waikiki, with a local guide to help you prepare for a day of exploring the island of Oahu. Pick up times vary by hotel and will be automatically assigned when you input your information into our online booking platform.

Diamond Head - Amelia Earhart Lookout

Visit Waikiki’s famous Diamond Head Volcano. The location is more formally known as Amelia Earhart Lookout, known for where bystanders gathered to watch Earhart make her first solo aviation journey from Hawaii to North America.

Halona Blowhole

Discover just one of Oahu’s natural wonders - Halona Blowhole. Halona Blowhole occasionally shoots seawater up to 30 feet in the air because of waves coursing through the underwater lava tubes. The viewing point provides a breathtaking view of Halona Cove, a beautiful beach that has been featured in many movies and music videos. If you visit during winter, you may be lucky enough to witness whales in the nearby waters.

Makapu’u Point

Visit the eastern most point of Oahu, Makapuʻu Point. This lookout offers amazing views, on a clear day, you may even see Moloka‘i and Lana‘i.

Byodo In Temple (admission included)

Built in 1963, the Byodo-In Temple is a Hawaii state landmark and one of the states’s best kept secrets. Discover the serene beauty of Valley of the Temples Memorial Park, nestled against the majestic Ko'olau Mountains. Visit the Amida Buddha, hear the sacred bell, and enjoy the relaxing ambience. Admissions is included with the price of tour.

Hawaiian Coffee and Macadamia Nut Tastings

After a beautiful drive along Oahu’s eastern coastline, our next stop is a local shop tucked away under aged Banyan Trees with macadamia nut and delicious Kona coffee tastings, along with very tempting Hawaiian chocolates amongst other treats.

Chinaman’s Hat and Kualoa Valley Mountain Range

Chinaman’s Hat, also known as Mokoli’i, is nestled right next to the Kualoa Valley Mountain range. This location is  known for its dramatic landscape filmed in a number of Hollywood movies; most notably and fan favorite Jurassic Park. The island has earned the nickname Chinaman’s Hat from its resemblance to the straw hats that the Chinese immigrants wore when working Oahu’s sugar plantations during the early 1900’s.

Famous North Shore Shrimp Lunch on Local Hawaiian Restaurant
We break for lunch at a local restaurant where you can have your pick of either a famous North Shore Garlic Shrimp plate or other local delicacies. Non-Shellfish and Vegetarian options are available. Please bring cash for lunch.

Tropical Fruit Stands

After lunch we make a stop at a North Shore tropical fruit stand which offers ice cold coconuts to drink from, fresh mangos, and other tropical treats.

North Shore Sunset Beach

Sunset Beach a popular spot on the North Shore known for its pristine sands, world-class surf breaks and surf competitions, and stunning sunsets.

Hawaii Green Sea Turtle Spotting on the North Shore

Spot Oahu’s Green Sea Turtles, one of largest hard-shelled sea turtle in the world, reaching lengths of four feet and weighing over 300 pounds. Out of the seven types of sea turtle, the Hawaiian green sea turtle is the most common in Hawaiian waters.

Dole Pineapple plantation

Discover the iconic and historic pineapple plantation home. This is a great way to end the day and of course, an opportunity to bring back home pineapple themed souvenirs for your friends and family.

Waikiki Return (3:30-4:00)

After a day of activities and fun, we return to Waikiki, just in time to make plans for the night. Mahalo for joining us!

Drop off time & Location of Return

We return to Honolulu between 4:00 to 4:30 pm

Note: Tour suitable for all ages, however, strollers are not allowed on bus and guests must purchase an additional seat if they wish to bring a car seat. Wheelchairs should also be collapsible. Please be advised there will be a variety of terrain visited while on the tour; from sand, gravel, to dirt. Please take this into consideration when planning your attire.
